Leading up to move...

Days leading up to the move, life was a complete shit show from finishing homeschooling, sports, doctor visits, construction, foreign documents, and everyday life. Most of this was made harder with COVID happening.
I had to research the Ohio homeschool laws to ensure I followed the law and got the paperwork summited and checked off by a teacher approved by the school district.
Doctor's visits with kids are already a pain in the ass at regular times. A pandemic made it even harder for a mom with no daycare as an option. You're not allowed to take a child to the office without seeing the doctor. Taking everyone at the same time wasn't an option either. My oldest is getting to an age he doesn't want his siblings in the room with him, which is understandable. The Middle child passes out when he gets shots, but only after taking most of the office staff to hold him down first. Parenting is so fun!
Construction is always a blast. My favorite part is that everything is on backorder due to COVID. I don't know about you, but it will be too soon if I never hear the words COVID and pandemic again. There's nothing like back order to bring construction to a complete stop. Chris was at work, so the phone calls and orders were on my list of responsibilities. Not complaining that it was my part to do it, but oh, the added stress. Although having complete control over the light fixtures, shower, and tub was great! You know what I'm talking about, ladies.
I thought all the forms we fill out in America were a lot. But, dear Lord, to fill out immigration papers is a whole new level. I now have a whole new respect for people in America that go through it. Also, I have the privilege of the internet, google translate, and not fleeing for my safety, getting the many pages filled out per person then all the documents. Adding to all this fun, these documents continued to get lost, not by us but by the Iceland government. It would go in the mail together, but they would only get a few forms even though they were in the SAME ENVELOPE!
It will be worth it. Oh, I hope this is true...
